Gijs Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Hello Yc'ers, The young composers youtube channel is now about a month underway. We have 9 composers featuring on it, 56 video's and 19 subs. So I can say it's becoming to get some shape. (Channel url: http://www.youtube.com/user/YoungComposersTube?feature=mhee ) I want to extent the goal of the channel from one where composers benefit from eachother, in the sence of more exposure, to a place where composers and people otherwise interested can learn about the art of composing and subjects related. I spoke about this with Daniel (SYS65) and we are contemplating a serie of instructional video's inspired by his lesson in the lessons-forum on YC. There is not yet a clear plan of approach yet. Who of you is interested in this and has idea's to contribute in one form or another? Quote
SYS65 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 hey no one has said anything ? Yeah I think I will be doing those videos, just will take some time to prepare and some more to do it, but I think I'm in. Have you spoken to Chopin ? I don't know if YC has an "official" channel already, tell him about this. Quote

Gijs Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 I think many are reluctant, simply because most people would probably rather learn something from a text they could go through at their own pace and navigate with ease. I think that's true for some, but I do think there are a lot of people who enjoy looking at graphic video with a person explaining things in more detail. If it's of good quality I think it can be a good supplement to the bokks or easier accesible for people who are interested in the subject, but not (yet) willing to buy a book on the subject. Quote
HeckelphoneNYC Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I'll for sure be sending in my mp3 of my string quartet :D this is such a fun idea. Quote
SYS65 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Ok ok, there are tons of instructional videos in Youtube and most of them are very helpful, but this isn't only about the videos that I suppose to do somehow someday, is more about promoting compositions by all of you... now I have a question: What about all of us have mp3 only but no time to do a video ? is there somebody fanatic of video edition softwares with great capability to do videos fast and for fun ? Well, if you have sheets to go with the music I can easily sync it with the mp3 and upload it. But if others are interested in making more creative video's I'm all for it. Quote
