jawoodruff Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 After talking with several people and discussing my situation with Student Accounts, I have set up a WePay Donations page to help raise money to help pay the remaining balance. I'm not comfortable asking for assistance from people -particularly monetary assistance. I was brought up to work hard and earn what I want in life. This is something, I feel, I have exhibited up to this point. So, I'm just going to try this and see if it works. https://www.wepay.com/x15v98k/donate/100281 Quote
composerorganist Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Jason - just a suggestiom but a link to your works at soundcloud or soundclick would be great. Check Kickstarter fundraising site for successful fundraising campaigns. 1 Quote
jawoodruff Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Chris, I checked the Kickstarter site, it looks like that one is strictly for project related funding. While there is a deadline for my campaign, it is prohibited on the kickstarter site. Quote
composerorganist Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Yes I knew that about Kickstarter but they offer great ideas to help promote your cause - offering links to your compositions, blogging about your triumphs and travails as an adult student trying to get his Bachelor's in the arts. I think you could apply some of that to your fundraising effort. Also the photo is good but it would be nice to show another of you composing or working with a musician on a work. If you have past or peresnt projects to blog about - eg like your experience having your flute piece performed by eighth blackbird or your work wioth the cellist - would be great. Record the readings - even if they are rough I think funders would be excited to hear about the process. Quote
jawoodruff Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 Ok, Chris. I posted a few links to some of my work. I'll also post a link to the reading of my brass quintet. These are GOOD ideas. Any more you can think of? It seems like you've been down this road before? Quote
