小太朗 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 This isn't really a composition question, but more of an arranging question, so I'm not too sure where to post this, so I'll post it here for now. (Attached) Does anyone know what this instrument is? The tone in the background is very short length D5 and then a C#5, if that helps. To me, it sounds wooden, and also somewhat like a bell. IMO, a wood block's sound doesn't seem to fit because a wood block's sound disappears too quickly, rather than slowly fade out like this one. That extract is from this video at around 0:47 Mystery Instument.wav Quote
Black Orpheus Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Sounds like a very resonant woodblock to me. Reverb for the win? Quote
Matthaeus Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Sounds like a submarine sonar to me :smithy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nwc0shJ2aYc Quote
HeckelphoneNYC Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 It might be a synth woodblock sound with added reverb. Quote
