Menelik Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I'm not finished listening to all the submitted pieces, but so far I'm pretty clear that Maestrowick and the Austen blew the ball out of town.

Austenite Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I think you are missing IF's. http://www.youngcomp...-external-link/ That's one of the reasons being too early doesn't work ;) ... 2
Morivou Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 This is why I ask for help. Thanks! JUDGES: PLEASE ADD IF'S TO YOUR LIST, I WILL PM AS WELL. 1
Austenite Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Morivou - pretty obviously you're way better writing music than counting entrants (or points) ... 1
Austenite Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 BTW, still no word about August? There were some fellow members asking about it already.
NathanHathawayAdams Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 How does this work? Do comments & point breakdowns get PM'd or posted?
ImperialFlute Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 That's one of the reasons being too early doesn't work ;) ... Well we live and we learn lol.
Austenite Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Judging from August 1st-9th. Results announced on the 10th. AND WE ARE CLOSED! Judges. Begin your work. You have till the 5th. Whoops... Something got lost over here. *keeps biting nails* 1
Morivou Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 I know. I should have edited that. It is the 9th! DON'T WORRY!
Menelik Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I don't pretend to really know anything, but if I had to make a forecast after listening to all the pieces, I'd pick either Maestrowick or Austenite (possibly the former, since the Austen can't ever win anything :P ). Third place should go to Bachian, although Ad-Hoc and ChristianPerrotta are the darkhorses here. Anybody taking bets before the results are up?
Tokkemon Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Interesting that all of those are tonal quasi-romantic works. 2
ChristianPerrotta Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Tokkemon, do you consider my work (Oriental Rhapsody) quasi-romantic? Interesting...
Tokkemon Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I wasn't referring so much to the dark horses. Yours is clearly not romantic, yes.
Austenite Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I can't recall any previous instance when no contestants ask for a deadline extension, yet the judges do :horrified: ... 3
Tokkemon Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Well this set of entries were, on the whole, very good stuff, so it required a lot of time to review everything thoroughly. Thanks to everyone for their patience! 4
