ImperialFlute Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Alright I have decided on what I am doing! I started at 1o'clock this morning lmao, ONLY because I had the good idea that I didn't want to fade. The book I chose: The bible. I am writing about Noah's journey on the Ark in the intense storm that wept out all of mankind except for what was on that boat. You will LOVE it. Do I still have to write the scripture when I post my piece?
treehugger1995 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 you say nothing on judging here :( well, I'm still at camp and I have at least 6 commissions due this month, but I can still judge!
NathanHathawayAdams Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 So, to clarify, does the work have to be wholly started as of today? I have a cantata that I've been meaning to use the themes of to arrange into a suite, but would that be outside the range of the competition because its an arrangement of already written material?
OpusOneTwo7 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Uni's finally over so I'd like to take part if that's ok.
Joshua Harton Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I'd be up for another competition, so long as I am not taking the place of someone else. =D (So, assuming there are slots, I am interested.)

It has to be based on any form of 2 dimensional literature. At least from what I read.
NathanHathawayAdams Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I apologize, I should have clarified. The cantata is based off of a short story.
Morivou Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 Nathan, go for it. It cannot have started prior to July 1st when the competition page was put up.
Ink Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Actually, I'm out. Sorry. I have a lot of music to write this month.
Morivou Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Yes, IF. I am going to update the list as soon as I post scores from June.
Morivou Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 Do you want me to put you on the list, or are you still deliberating?
Tokkemon Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I'd actually like to judge this one please. Large ensemble stuff is my specialty. 2
ImperialFlute Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 All right!!!! We may have full stock this time!!!! I already have big competition, I see. I don't do large ensemble stuff often, but I really think that I can win a good spot in this competition.
Piano18 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Hi, I'm new to the forum! Any chance I could join? I'm pretty inexperienced at composition (just A Level so far!), but this will probably get me trying to get some practice! Not looking for a top place, but maybe some comments - how do we submit the mp3/score? Rob
Austenite Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 To upload music, look for the "Upload Music" button at the top right of the webpage. This will take you into the uploading interface, which is pretty intuitive. The scores and MP3 files are both uploaded there.
Piano18 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Okay, that's great, thanks Austenite! Now...I need to come up with something good :/ Rob
