Morivou Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 2 spots left! And, a judging spot too. :) EVERYBODY SUBMIT THIS TIME (actually, if there were 18 submissions, I would go crazy trying to judge large ensemble stuff well. hahah)
Austenite Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Better be ready for requests to extend the deadline ;) . 1
Pianoforte Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I'd like to enter - this sounds like a great idea for a competition!
Morivou Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 One spot left. Remember that the Waiting List is still an option for those who still want to enter. You can be pretty much GUARANTEEED that the person ahead of you will drop out. ;) hahah.
ChristianPerrotta Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 May I have the honor of occupying the last spot? I'd like to join the competition. 2
Morivou Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 Yup! Competition is CLOSED for entry. If you want to sign up, please enter your name for the waiting list and compose away! Judges will have the option of reviewing, but not scoring your piece. If somebody drops out, then the pieces will be moved up into the competitors' ranks first come first placed on the list. :)
ImperialFlute Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 This is the best competition this year. Morivou, great decision for competition!!!!
ImperialFlute Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Morivou, I shall be having two scores: one for viewing the other for the music because Noteflight does not give me lee-way on the scoring so I had to manually implement crescendos and diminuendos.I will specify which ones, but judges must make make sure to pay attention. I do not want to lose points because of my software.
Morivou Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 lol. Ok. And, I didn't choose it, the members of YC did. :P It's YC Choice month. 1
ImperialFlute Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 NO I meant in the sense of letting us choose lol 1
Morivou Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 OH. Well, you guys complained so much about my choices, it was only fair. hahaha.
ImperialFlute Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 lol. This is actually the first competition I have ever participated in YC. I'm almost done with my piece.
ImperialFlute Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I have already finished...... Can I go ahead and post it or should I wait until the end of the month?
ImperialFlute Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Alrighty then. lol I still have to write a synopsis of the piece and then I'll put it on.
Piano18 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 :( Okay, sorry but I'm gonna have too pull out.. little time, rubbish themes and not enough practice! I'll do what I was going to as a piano piece and work at my melody writing etc. I hope to try again sometime! Rob
jsands Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I'm afraid I'll have to join Piano18 in quitting, but only because I have another project in the works that I'd rather give my time to. .
Morivou Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Piano18 and jsands, you will be missed. haha.
Austenite Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Morivou, will you tell me how to submit my entry? What I've done so far is to upload the piece normally AND post a link into the respective thread. But let's hear an "official" answer ;) .
Bachian Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Here's my submission. http://www.youngcomposers.com/music/2824/farewell-july-competition-submission/ 1
Morivou Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Very good, Bachian. :) Thanks for the entry.
theviolinist7 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 http://www.youngcomp...ly-competition/ I do not have the entire thing written, only two movements. Is there anything else I need to do to submit it?
