So, with the BBC Proms officially starting in a little over an hour, I'm pretty pysched. I listened to every single one last year, and hope I have the time to do it all again.

I was wondering if anyone else enjoys them a lot, and if anyone wanted to talk about thoughts on what they heard on here?

p.s.: for those who don't know them, the bbc proms is 8 weeks of glorious concerts from Royal Albert Hall in London, over 76 in total (meaning sometimes 2 or 3 per day) that are all broadcast live over the web and available online for 7 days after. website here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms

Wow, you're dedicated. I usually go to 3-4 per year and listen to around 1/3 of the live broadcasts. I'm definitely going to John Wilson orchestra in a few weeks and Alpine Symphony on 7th September, as well as some of the new music ones including a piece being premièred by a former teacher. iPlayer is a godsend for catching up as most of the repeats are in the afternoon when I'm at work.

Awesome. I would love to be in England right about now...the states just don't have anything like the BBC. And yeah, dedicated would be an accurate depiction, although none of them were ever heard live because of the wonderful time zone difference.

Austenite, I thought you could only watch them in the UK? I only get the radio versions here and everything video is blocked...

Exactly. But anything gets eventually uploaded in YouTube (that's how I got familiarized with the Proms in first place ;) ).
