Matai Mo Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Im new to this site, I want to participate. how do I do it? Quote
Kvothe Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 You just did....by saying that you did and reading what is required of said competition. Quote
treehugger1995 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 This is the best theme yet, count me in! Zelda time!!! Quote
theviolinist7 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 For being a judge, I should probably know what the Zelda theme sounds like....I'm not a video game nerd. Can someone send me a youtube link? Quote
Morivou Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 Don't worry. All submissions will have a link to the original work. Quote
Chopstix Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 So, just to confirm the submission: Do you want us to upload it to the "Game and Film Music" category and say it's part of the contest? Quote
Robbie Parker Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 no haha, some guy said he had never herd the zelda theme before. so i posted it. 1 Quote
Chopstix Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Well, I guess now is the time to post it. http://www.youngcomposers.com/music/3065/medal-of-honor-theme-arrangement-august-comp/ 1 Quote
Tokkemon Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 So, just to be clear. Should this be a Mozartian Theme and Variations where each variation is obvious and separate, or can it be a later-style Fantasy-type thing? That would be easier to write I would think because a lot of these melodies don't lend themselves well to objective variation themselves but rather to their treatment. Quote
Chopstix Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Yes, I was wondering that as well. Even though I've already written the entire arrangement.... :veryunsure: Quote
Robbie Parker Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 im moving in a week and im packing everyday on top of going to work i have no time for this :( Quote
Kvothe Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 That is a wonderful question to answer. Here is my unoffical answer: I will say both since the rules does not clarify which one we want. Quote
theviolinist7 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Just a notice. PLEASE MARK WHERE THE VARIATIONS START! IT WILL MAKE THINGS MUCH CLEARER FOR THE JUDGES! I WILL MARK DOWN ON SCORE CLARITY IF YOU DO NOT! Same goes with interludes. Quote
Tokkemon Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I still have had no answer. Is this a fantasy or strict theme and variations. If it is the latter this is going to get very difficult for me, esp given the time constraints. Quote
treehugger1995 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 yeah, I don't think I can make it, finale just randomly deleted a viola concerto I was almost done with, so I have to start over.... Quote
ad hoc Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I have to withdraw my offer to judge. I'll be on vacation the entire judging period. Quote
Chopstix Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Too bad, everybody seems to be dropping out. Quote
Kvothe Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 @Tokke: I already answer this question: That is a wonderful question to answer. Here is my unoffical answer: I will say both since the rules does not clarify which one you want. To reirrate: it does not matter which one you use. Both would be a type of variations Quote
Morivou Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 Hey all! I apologize! I have been barred from the internet for a week because of my computer harddrive failing. SO: here's what I am going to do. NOBODY is dropping out. We are just going to extend the competition to TWO months, since I was gone. I'm very interested in seeing this through with better participation. And, this is also a hard month for students starting school. So! That's what we'll do. BY THE WAY: the october competition is already in the works and the details are being ironed out. So, be ready to participate in that as well. :) -Connor. Quote
Morivou Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 SEE THE ORIGINAL POST FOR NEW DATES. PLEASE RECONSIDER RESCENDING YOUR DISEMBARKING FROM THE COMPETITION! Quote
