Connor_Helms Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 In sibelius how would one do this? Quote
tuohey Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I'm not sure about Sibelius 7 because it has a different layout but in earlier versions you first need to enter all of the notes onto the treble staff then select the notes that you want to cross onto the bass staff and press Ctrl, shift and down. Alternatively, go to the notes menu>cross-staff notes>move down a staff. Hope that helps! Quote
Connor_Helms Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 ctrl shift down worked perfectly in sibelius 7, thanks! Quote
Kvothe Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 yeah, I was about to ask this same, exact question, but this thread would suffice just fine. Thanks for bring the topic up. :D Quote
tuohey Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 You could drag the stem up or down so that it looks like it belongs to both notes on both staffs. I've done that before to indicate that the parts on both staffs should be played with the same hand and to avoid excessive ledger lines above the bass clef. Here's an example of what I mean: http://javanese.imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/7/75/IMSLP03213-Satie-GymnopediesOrEd.pdf Other than that, I don't know of any 'proper' way to do it and I imagine it could be awkward to do in some situations involving smaller note values. tuohey Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Something like this: A lot of hiding and aligning to do without a proper method. In this example I really don't see the point in having a cross-staff thing going on. You may as well notate it with a separate left hand part. Quote
