ChristianPerrotta Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 There's a plug-in in Finale 2010 which creates tremolos very easily: we just select the two notes of the tremolo, and it changes them. However, I'd like to do it through staves; this method (selecting and... err... pressing the button to change) doesn't work. Is there any other way to do it? Just to clarify: the tremolos I'm doing are like these: two notes in octave, with noteheads like half-notes, but beamed like 16th notes. Quote
jrcramer Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I think you have to use the plugins in the right order. First try to use the easy tremolo on a single staff. Then use the note mover to create the cross-staff Quote
ChristianPerrotta Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Oh, no, I'm sorry, I've made a mistake: it's not tremolo crossing staves, but through bar lines =/ That one is quite difficult... Quote
jrcramer Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 if it is over barlines why not cut it up: Say, if you want the tremolo for the duration of a whole note, starting on the 3rd beat of a 4/4, you want two halve notes with the tremolo. But 2 times 2 quarters works just as fine. Quote
ChristianPerrotta Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 In fact it's not that simple, but I have already figured out how to do (There IS a way to do it, and I almost did, by using 16th notes, with hidden pauses, beamed them across barline and changed the notehead shape, but many "glitches" started to appear, so I gave up and took off the bar lines, making a very big measure, so that I didn't need to crossbeam notes). Thanks anyway^^ 1 Quote
jrcramer Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I knew it is possible to alter manually the beams and noteheads, and hidden rests, etc. But that is nothing but trouble, unless you shut down the auto update feature, and lock the measures in the staff. Things I never do, unless the work is done, and engraving is all there is left for me. But no problem. Quote
