TJS Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 The situation: I started a piece in 3/8 but later found out it "should" be written in 3/2 (or 3/4). (Most of what I've written so far is 16th notes, which should theoretically make it easy to change the value of the notes.) When I go to change the original time signature, if I ask Sibelius to auto-correct, I end up with way too many notes in a bar because it doesn't change their value. If I ask it not to correct and then change the sixteenths to quarter notes manually, I end up with something ridiculous like a quarter note and two sixteenths per bar. The manual did not appear to be very helpful. I was hoping, as another solution, to cut and paste the whole thing into a blank manuscript with no time signature and change the note values that way, but Sibelius won't let you create a file without a time signature (REALLY?! Yes, there are ways to create something similar, but it still seemed like you would end up with barlines that you have to erase, so it probably wouldn't work for me.). Is there any way for me to change this without having to re-write the whole passage? Quote

TJS Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Although, this isn't that difficult to do even without the plug in. You just, you know, have to actually spend time on it. Yeah, well, in case you didn't read my post, I did try several methods (and more which I didn't list) which means I did waste a lot of time on it. But thanks for your fantastic "advice." Are you that useless with your students or is waving a $10 bill in your direction the key to getting you to say something worthwhile? Quote
TJS Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 I wasn't giving advice or trying to help you. Just felt the need to jump into a thread and supply one of my endless snide remarks. Corrected for accuracy. Quote
TJS Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 It's not my fault you can not accomplish simple tasks. Your faults lie elsewhere. Quote
