All good and bad things in life must change.

Everything I do contributes to moving on.

I'm ready to move on now.

Eight years ago, I joined this site with the intention of really contributing as a member. I wanted people to recognize me for my abilities, and I wanted to interact with others to maybe help their paths progress. The time now, as I turn 21 this year, has come for my time here at this site to end. I've been a member, a student, a teacher, a reviewer, and finally a moderator. I've done pretty much everything one could do on this site. It helped me get a full scholarship to college (to the number 2 music university in the country) and I cannot thank you all enough.

But, I have also learned that my life is fleeting, and I've recently come to terms with my mortality. I see my accomplishments here, and I recognize it as a viable and important part of my journey I will share with my family in 50-60 years, looking back on my adolescence.

I don't want to be sappy, but I've gotten through hard times here, good times, bragged on myself and others... and you all have been as a family. Even families, though, must fade. (I think I've been watching too much anime... look at my cheesy language. :P)

So, with the conclusion of this monthly competition, and this YC awards, I will be leaving the site and stepping down from my staff position.

I wouldn't leave, of course, without naming a successor to the title of Monthly Competition Moderator. It is, of course, Austenite. Though, if Austenite refuses the position, you all will have to find a suitable replacement, lest the monthly comps disappear into the void. :P

Thank you all very much for your time and support over the years. Time to start a new chapter!

I don't know what to say. I absolutely dislike watching helpful and collaborative members leaving :( . I mean, if you're stepping down from staff, that's OK - but I still think you have a lot more to contribute as a member. Your skills and knowledge have grown to a point you could be very helpful for younger / less experienced composers, so I would want you to reconsider the decision of leaving altogether. It doesn't mean you have to be permanently logged in - just to come back here and then.

:horrified: ...

I'll surely need some extra tools and also a crash course on how to do this :p . But as long as I'm somehow helpful, so be it.

Thanks a lot.

Although I don't know you for a very long time, I've already created a great image of you, and the subtle fellowship grown in this composers world is sufficient to make me miss your presence here. Good luck in your life!!!!

Well, when I say leaving, I mean leaving like a new years resolution doomed to fail. :P I'm not going into the former members category, nor can you vote me as most missed member. I'm not leaving like Elizabeth had to leave.

I'm just not going to be around much. I'm going to focus on schoolwork (not so I can do better, but so I can do faster and more efficiently).

Nah. Phil did not. :)

I'd also like to point out... that it seems that when you are a reasonable staff member, you go insane. ;)

I'd like to note that this will be my last post for a while. Austenite has agreed to his staff position, and I am about to post the final results for the monthly competition. So, once that's done, I'm removing YC from my bookmarks bar, which means it will disappear from my mind. I'm sure, though, when I get a nice piece performed, I'll post it and stay a week or so to review some pieces. :D With that said, I'm locking this thread. Any more salutations can be sent by PM. I'll get them in my email!
