FossMaNo1 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Is there some place online (not YouTube!) where I can listen to the various bowing techniques in strings. For example, for someone who does not play a string, it is hard to understand the difference in marcato from spiccato fom martellato. Quote

dscid Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Not always an option, I went to my local string shop asking about Turangalila, and they said they could order it for me, for close to $200, for the small size. Just saying. But, regarding U2's suggestion, you could check a local university's library (and bring an mp3 player), possibly, or follow it, if you simply wish to hear basic techniques, I guess, but pick a score with a multitude of techniques =P But, I'd prefer to hear it each instrument solo, personally. =P Quote
