The beginning is a plethera of various compositional techniques. You have some bitonality, especially in regards to the piano to the orchestra. The strings in the beginning are also using very tall chords. Chords that have 9ths, 13ths, etc. These chords are used regardless of key which causes some very interesting chromaticism. The Chord progression itself becomes a ostinato and the motif for the piece.

The rest of the piece is just minor with chromaticism.
