Yc Theme Challenge No. 4 (Returns!)

When's the deadline for submitting a theme?

I believe tomorrow is the deadline...?

Oh cool!  A new participant I haven't seen before. I'm looking forward to starting this challenge!

Will we decide the assignments tomorrow (my time...which is eastern US) then?

Since it's now past Sunday for everyone, I'll just assign the themes right now (randomly):

Ooooh, Christian's theme is a challenge indeed!

I'd like to take the time to dedicate this post to one single thing that any who read this thread must not fail to see.

ANYONE CAN JUMP IN AND TAKE PART IN THIS.

If you missed the initial theme picking thing, you are free to just pick one on your own and use it. In fact, I highly encourage anyone who wants to do so. To organize a second drawing with a deadline would also be possible as JFTFT said. If multiple people submit themes this week, we'll assign those amongst you all.

DO NOT LEAVE THIS THREAD THINKING YOU ARE TOO LATE

That happened last time to some as well so I don't want it to happen again. This is a very open, very unofficial challenge. There are no deadlines on composing a piece based on these themes. We're all just doing this for fun and personal musical development. No one's gonna rain on your parade if you just pick a theme and use it. Just make sure you post here to let us know when you've chosen a theme or completed a work based on a theme. We want to listen to it and it's unlikely that we'll do so if we have to dig through the uploads section. Putting a link here is much easier to keep track of for everyone.

I've been busy for the past few days, but I think I want to try Christian's theme. But, I hear it my head much faster than he wrote, like a kind of death waltz. I'll try and see if I can come up with any decent theme of my own.

I got lucky again, with the uber-talented Christian assigned to cleverly twist my theme beyond recognition.

Hopefully I'll be able to do likewise with JFTFT's...

Things came up this weekend and I couldn't come up with a convincing theme in time.  However, some of the submitted themes are quite interesting and I'll probably try my hand on some of them unofficially.
