Joshua Quinlan Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) Hi everyone,I have worked on many projects in the past few years with some notable people, and I've started another - say hello to ComposerJam.The aim of ComposerJam is to allow young composers to express themselves through music, and discover new talents. It would be an annual competition that would allow composers of age 14+ to participate, either by scoring or using a DAW to write music for a specific task that would be given. Here is how the competition would work: Stage One: Candidate Registration - each candidate registers on the website with their relevant information, and is granted access to the competitors' portal if their registration is approved. Stage Two: Getting Started - useful information about the competition is released to candidates in the form of videos (which would be on the portal), and documents, which can be found on the portal and will be emailed out. Stage Three: Competition Dates Released - dates and times which are important for the competition are released to candidates. These include date of task release (see below), check-up (see below), and submission deadline. Stage Four: Preparation - all documentation and access privileges that competitors might require is released (24 hours before stage 5). Stage Five: Task Release - the task to which competitors must complete is released in video and document form. Stage Six: Task Checkup - a moderator will check up with each candidate or team to ensure that they know what they are doing and that they are on target. Stage Seven: Composition Submission - all competitors must submit their composition on the portal within a period of 2 hours on a given date (approx 5 days after task release). Stage Eight: Moderation Period - all pieces are checked to ensure the work is created by the candidate solely, and fits to the criteria of the competition. Stage Nine: Judging Period - all pieces that come through the Moderation Period are judged, shortlisted, and then 3 winners will be chosen (winner, runner-up and highly commended candidate). Stage Ten: Winners Informed - all of the above winners are informed. Stage Eleven: Prize Giving Ceremony Announcement - all candidates are informed of the date of the prize giving ceremony Stage Twelve: Prize Giving Ceremony - all candidates are given a certificate and winners are announced (this would be on a live stream). If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask. I am currently looking for the following to help me make this concept a reality:- Managers (x3 + myself): ensure that all events occur smoothly, and run the competition- Judges (x10): decide on the winner, runner up and highly commended candidates- Moderators (x50): check all submissions to ensure that they are the sole work of the candidate(s) in question- Developers (x5): develop a website and Web application which can be used to promote the contest, and allow all of the above access to content that they require, as well as having a place for candidates to submit their work (more details can be given)- candidates: in order for this to take place, we obviously need people to compete.- sponsors: we need to have a prize for the winner(s), and have supporters for the contest, as well as having a website and domain to go along with this. Please message me if you would be interestedIf you would be interested in becoming any of the above, please reply to the thread, or message me, and I would be very interested in taking to you.Happy composing!
