I attached the final two movements as just MP3's, as I have yet to upload them to YouTube. This is my most extended piece of music, which was completely over the period of about 6 days. It consists of nine movements for orchestra based around Dante's Inferno, a description of Hell. The score may need some revision, but the work as a whole is ~160 pages, so minor revisions are to be put off. Enjoy, and check out my YouTube channel for a more in-depth description of some of the individual pieces.

First off, this is an awesome idea.  Will there be a Purgatorio and Paradiso forthcoming?

On the whole I liked it a lot, especially Limbo, Heresy, and Fraud.  I like the what you did with the horns in Fraud and also the contrabasson in Treachery  The spirit of the different cantos is definitely picked up pretty well in what you wrote.

A few critiques: some of the cantos seemed to be a little long without really having a lot of variation, and so maybe it would be good to either pare them down or change things up.  In particular, the themes for Avarice and Anger are quite similar and seem a bit repetitive.  I'd have to listen again to be sure but I don't think you depart much from basic chords hardly at all in the first several movements.

I'm not a professional musician like most people on here seem to be, so I can't really say much beyond that, but overall, good job!

Thanks for the critiques! I can totally see what you mean; I did only write it in about six days, so it may be a good idea to revisit and maybe expand on some of the ideas.

I found this piece most impressive. It is delicate and you really achieve to take the most of each idea, moves feel centered on one impression developed at length, which surely fits a thematic suite. My favorite moves were Limbo, Lust - to me it really evoked its’ theme in an subtle, unexpected and truly damned way. I liked Fraud especially because it seemed more wandering and less tied to a pattern, but really engaged and far reaching, in a way akin to Grieg’s Aases Death which it made me think of at a particular moment. I felt that you sometime overused some themes in Avarice and Anger, maybe not the most interesting ones unfortunately, but this may be part of my personal cautiousness regarding dramatic themes.

Overall a remarkable piece.
