Luis Hernández Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I am writing a Pet Suite. I have 7 animals with me (3 dogs + 4 cats). Each one is unique. I am writin a couple of pieces for everyone thinking how they are and I feel about them. Byron is my biggest boy. He is very active, but tender with other dogs, with cats, children... The music is in a minimalit style. I listen Philip Glass Studies almost every night, I love him... Ken320 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 There is a lot of drama here with the simple repetitive phrases and gestures and chord changes. Very nice music. Quote
fishyfry Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Very reminiscent of Phillip glass indeed. With perhaps a little more variation and a little less energy, which is appropriate for the pet you're trying to portray. I think it's beautiful. You're pets are incredibly cute and I can't wait to hear your other pieces for them. Btw, I love minimalism too. The music has a kind of quiet, ambient energy to it that I find absolutely hypnotic. .Em. Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 This was sweet. I tried to imagine a gentle active dog prancing around. It was easy for the most part. I personally found it too melancholic. But there were some more uplifting chord choices. I will have to check out Phillip Glass as I did enjoy this overall. Thank you for sharing! Quote

Thanks for listening and bringing this memories back. Of course, I love Glass... When I wrote this piece, this dog wasn' going well. In fact he died a few months later.... 1 Quote
