Hi everyone! This is a jazz song from my debut EP album called "You are my everything".

I wrote the music and lyrics by myself and It's also me singing and playing on the recording.

I think it somehow reminds me of Kissing a Fool by George Michael just a little bit.

Please let me know how you like it!

Thanks Oliver.

I like this very much. The "simplicity" of the music (bass, piano) is wonderful because they fill every space here. The melody is pretty good, and I also love your voice (nice low register, difficult).

I think many pop composers have done things in this style (I would say bossa-pop-jazzy, perhaps).

Thank you so much Luis, you are always so kind, commenting on my pieces,I appreciate it a lot :)

I'm glad you like the simplicity,I think it lets the song flow in it's purest form, you can't hide anything and I'm happy you like the melody and singing :)

Yes, this is very nice.  very smooth, I liked the syncopation in you vocal in those sections..  Nice and relaxing.

Thank you very much! I like how you pointed out the syncopation, because I didn't really think about it at all,it all came very naturally :)

This is an excellent jazz ballad! As Luis said, the small arrangement with piano and bass sounds fine on its own. The main theme used in the introduction is awesome with the leading ii-V harmony and the active melody. My only criticism would be the melody in the verse(s). As I stated the chorus melody is excellent however the melody in the verse utilizes motivic repetition a little too much even though it sounds like the melody utilizes some form of rhythmic displacement there. For me the displacement isn't enough as it sounds too similar to the original motive there. The lyrics aren't bad at all. They could use a little more development to my uneducated, lyrical ears. But there again this site seems to be more about composition anyway as both are different art forms (lyrics and composition). Aside from all these comments I can say without a doubt and will back Luis on the fact that your voice is excellent in that low register. The vibrato is definately there as well. Great job!

Thank you very much! I know that the lyrics could be propably more developed, unfortunately I'm no Shakespeare for now :D I'll work on this part of my songwriting for sure,It's maybe because this is one of only few lyrics I ever wrote.I was always too shy to share my lyrics with other people althought I always loved writing anything and this my shyness stopped me from writing lyrics for a long time, but It's just a mental problem I have to solve. It's the same with singing, I always loved to sing so much but over the time I somehow developed a fright of singing in front of other people, not believing in myself and in my voice. But I started to get personal singing lessons last year and It has done miracles to my self confidence, now when I perform my music live,I even sing and It feels so great! I think I'll need more time to feel at home when performing but I'm on my way. So happy you like it :) and with the verse's melody, I couldn't think about any other melody, this is just what appealed to me the most at the time of composing this song. The verses are relatively short and the song is rather easy structurally so I didn't think about it being too repetitive but It's good point from you thank you, I'll think about this when I compose any other songs, I'm happy with any criticisms, they help me think about the things in a different way :)

Thank you very much! Yes, this is structurally rather a pop song with a jazzy feel so It's got a simple melody and a simple solo but I think it's just what this song needs, thank you for you comment :)

You have a very pleasant voice..  Developing your singing voice is a very rewarding experience.  Each person's voice is unique, it is joyous to sing..

Karen Carpenter was the drummer..  And they told her, she had to start singing lead on her brother's songs...   To me, she has one of the best singing voices of all time..

You can hear her life, her experiences, her strengths and frailities in it..

Keep singing and writing vocal tunes..  There is a free songwriting course at Coursera.org..  It is taught by Pat Patterson.  The man in a genius..  He teaches at Berklee Music School in  Boston Ma..  I've taken several of his courses at Berklee (expensive, but good)..  The Coursera course is great for free..  His course may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but take what you learn.. Then go back to it later, and take it again..  Gradually it all soaks in..

It's very eye and ear opening..   Keep up the great work..
