This is my largest concertante piece up-to-date, my flute concerto. It is not so virtuoso for the soloist and focuses more on melodic beauty and long expressive lines. Of course it has tricks and fast energetic motion, especially in finale. But the central "heart" of the music is a long second movement with slow, almost like never-ending breath of melodic freedom.

I listened to this amazed at the use of the orchestra, and finally at about page 90ish, I realized there were no woodwinds!  WOW!  I would have never thought to put a single flute player against/with a full brass, percussion and string section.  More importantly, the contrast allowed the flute to be heard at all times.

Again, I am truly inspired by your harmonic vocabulary.  You weave melodic and harmonic movements together that defy "tonality", yet retain a strong tonal direction.

It's really a joy to listen to your work.
