S. Larson Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Can we compile a list of top NON-CONSERVATORY liberal arts schools and/or universitites that have great music programs? thanks. Quote
Calehay Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Well, the school I'm going to, Oklahoma City University, has a rather overlooked music program outside of it's musical theater program, but for me, it was the best fit. I personally don't think that there are "the best colleges or universities." What I think is important is that you find a good music teacher with whom you are compatible and will be able to work well with, and will be able to teach you a lot. Quote
Guest Bitterduck's Revenge Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 UNT(Uni of North TexaS) has a good jazz program. UT has a good modern composing program. Quote
oboehazzard Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Columbia Union College has a great orchestra. As does Southern Union College. Atlantic Union college's program is the best, but it's small, and is better for chamber music. Quote
