Oboe Sonata in F major, No. 1

Hey guys! So, I'm a little mentally exhausted -- I'm just after writing nine pieces in the past three days (which will all be uploaded soon.) This is my first true chamber sonata for oboe and piano, and I hope you guys enjoy. I really enjoy writing in this form, so let me know what you think and thanks for the help.

It's OK. But I'm not very fond of classic style.

I see that in some parts you push the piano into the background, I mean vith simple vertical chords (as in the adagio). The rondeau is where I find a btter balance between the instruments. Well, in fact, the piece is named "Oboe sonata"..., so, it's your choice, of course.

Thanks, Luis. Your preferences are your own, of course, but I myself am very fond of the style. I appreciate the input nonetheless!

Hey I just listened to the first movement for now, and it's really pleasant music. The chromatic touches to the melody were nice, and it reminded me of Mozart. Sometimes the oboe part seemed very difficult in the highest register of the instrument, but I'm no expert. The one place I thought needed more moving notes to keep it going was the little Adagio spot, where the piano chords are kind of boring. Nice work!

My sentiments exactly. The style in opinion gets pretty repetitive after you analyze the piece for a few minutes. Maybe it's purely an audience piece so that wouldn't be an issue, but that's what I saw. For example, I think it's really beautiful in places, but when you hear chord progressions instead of notes, it gets kind of monotonous.

Thanks for the comment! I'm not too sure on the skill requirements for this piece, as I'm not an oboist, but I'm sure it's somewhat difficult, as you mentioned -- I didn't want to make it too simple, yet I'm unsure of I made it too difficult -- I'll only know with a performance. Regarding the adagio section, here I lowered the skill level down quite considerably to allow for a respite, but I understand your criticisms about the piano. I hope you give the other movements a shot and I will become uploading my other sonatas soon.

Thanks, Monarcheon, for the input. This style certainly isn't for everyone, but I gave it all I had. Stayed tuned for more!
