GonnaSaveThePrincess Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Hey guys! This is a little something I've been sitting on for a while. I used a Nintendo 64 soundfont for it, and I think it has an old school RPG-esque feel. The only bit I don't particularly care for is the very end when I switch back to G major, it feels a little forced. But please let me know what you think! Monarcheon Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I don't think that switch to G major sounds all that bad. If you're really concerned about it, you end with an F in the melody, then you could do a V - I going from F to F# on the V chord, then resolving to I again by resolving the leading tone. Otherwise, I think it's a pretty "video-game"-esque thing to do. This reminded me Banjo Kazooie for some reason, and I'm not entirely sure why. The tone is kind of the same, though maybe not everywhere in the overworld. I thought it was a bit odd that some parts of your melody were swung, and some weren't. It wasn't a major thing by any means, but I noticed it while listening. This is pretty nice stuff; well done. 1 Quote
Anthony Johnson Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Wow that soundfont sounds amazing. It reminded me of Kingdom Hearts a little bit. Nice. 1 Quote
fishyfry Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Oh, I loved this. I'd love to play with an N64 soundfont. So much nostalgia. Quote
