Mode #1 (Messiaen)

Hi, exploring Messiaen's Mode 1.
 In fact, he used it in very few occasions, although he describe it. It's no other than the whole tone hexatonic scale (Debussy).

Definitely note a mode that's easy to read, at least for me. I notice there are a few places where you seem to depart from the original mode into something more diatonic (m. 20-24, 37-38). Was that a mistake or did you do that intentionally? It definitely doesn't feel out of place, and it's a cool effect so I'd love to understand it a little better.

Yes, you're right. Mode 1 is combined here with chords by fifths and fourths.

Very nice.  I have a hard time getting into Messiaen's music but this definitely does have a Debussy feel to it.
