December 8, 20169 yr Hello everyone! I am fairly new to this forum and was very excited to find it! This is a piece I'm working on for a project that is about a dream world filled with nightmares. Im not sure where or if it will fit but any feedback would be much appreciated.
December 8, 20169 yr Not every chord has to be a seventh chord you know; with something like this a jarring image of calm vs. complex would be nice, but it's too static here in my opinion. I also don't really get the feeling of encountering nightmares. You set up a dreamscape, admittedly, quite admirably, but I don't get that second layer to it. Possibly adding really electronic sounds to counter it would add to that effect. That's just a suggestion, I just want to feel more uncomfortable.
December 8, 20169 yr Author Awesome feedback, thank you! 7th,9th,13th are my weakness I just love them too much :) -maybe some diminished chord tones or some unsettling background sounds to make it more unstable?
December 8, 20169 yr I can hear the dream aspect though as Monarcheon mentioned it is a little difficult to determine where the Nightmare portion comes in. I hear the part where the tension is steadily building which leads into the vocals towards the end but it ends abruptly (Which is a current issue I have actually haha.) Overall, if this was more developed it has the potential to be something epic.
