Monarcheon Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Interesting. It's not a minimalist piece so the rather hefty use of held notes was a bit of a turn off. I also wished you played with the glissandi more! That would have been awesome. Great chord structures in this one. Quote
SebastianViola Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 No relation at all to it's coincidentally close timing to the new Star Wars movie? :P I agree with Monarcheon about the long held notes. I feel that it made the piece lose some of its direction. Also in m.33 when it goes from the violin section to 2nd viola as a transition, to my ear I don't think it works. It just sounds odd and disjointed. I would say around m. 40 onward the piece really finds its groove though and everything fits together nicely. Quote
