Emiliano Manna Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 A (pseudo-)Bolero for an unusual harmoniemusik ensemble: Clarinet, three Bassoons, and a virtuosic Castanets part. The form is a loose Rondo, with the alternativo part being a short Fandango in D minor an a famous progression. That's my first complete work scoring woodwinds, so please let me know if there are some errors, apart the longish trill at measure 99 Quote
Monarcheon Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Great work. You did a pretty good job with ensuring breaths are able to be taken. Some of the faster triplet passages are very difficult, but possible; I don't think the bassoon has a good fingering for that. Tempo transitions were a bit strange as well, namely the first one, and the return to the main theme was, too, a bit strange. Good work; cheers! Quote
fishyfry Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Great! Fiercely difficult for all players, it seems, but it's a fantastic piece and a really fun listen. Very impressive for your first work with woodwinds. It might earn you the scorn of a bassoon player, but if they have the skill to pull it off it would be well worth it. Quote
