Seni-G Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Please give me your advice. I have Finale 2010, and I want to create some decent quality audio. I usually just export my Finale file to a wav file and call it a day. It works well enough to convey the basic notes, but the quality just isn't where I want it to be. I have attached an example of the highest quality piano sound I am able to achieve from this process. Violin sounds even worse. Does anyone have any tips for how to make a better wav (or mp3 or midi) file? I can write music just fine, but I don't know much about the technical side, so please treat me like a newbie. I'll take any suggestions you have, especially ones that aren't too expensive. Thanks in advance for any advice you offer! maestrowick Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 I think you're referring to the VSTs not the audio file. Use Garritan which is included; the Steinway on there is good. I use Addictive Keys for my Piano but it's expensive. I can't afford it myself but it was a gift. This may help your problem. Quote
danishali903 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Does Finale 2010 even come with garritan? I thought they only shipped it with 2012 and later. In any case, the garritan library that comes with Finale pre-packaged is not that great. That's why I purchased Garritan Personal Orchestra. Not the best sound library, but it's cheap and it gets the job done (plus I love the piano and wind samples they've got). Quote
maestrowick Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 It came with something but I can't remember what it was....but it's better than smartsoft 1 Quote

Still not the best sound samples...but better than MIDI or whatever else. Quote
