JBegley Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 This suite contains five pieces of music that correspond to one of Kubler-Ross's five stages of grief. I haven't really done any projects before that revolve around a 'theme' or 'concept', so I hope that this turned out good. Anyway, here it is, and I hope some listening enjoyment can be found here. Ken320 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) the music is very interesting in itself. I think you should have approached this as a suite where each movement covers only a very narrowly circumscribed theme. The more mono-thematic the better. You've got a lot of drama going on, which is great! But it makes each movement sound the same. So, it's hard to prove the concept this way, imo. For example, Acceptance of grief should be as tranquil as possible and not the "big finish" you've set up. See what I mean? It's a hard sell. You could flesh it out more with an actual story and submit it to the Winter Story Competition... but you will need to provide the score. Edited January 17, 2017 by Ken320 Quote
