luderart Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 This is my 18th soliloquy for clarinet (in Bb). It is one of my longer soliloquies, and one of the best ones in my opinion. As usual, the score is the transposing one. Maarten Bauer Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Overall, well done! I enjoyed it. Some feedback: In my opinion the piece is a little bit too repetitive qua rhythm. Try to develop the theme. More dynamics would make the piece more interesting for the performer and the audience. The range of the Clarinet is immens, but you seem not to use it. The highest note you use is an E. The Clarinet can play at least one octave higher than this note. By using also higher notes means that you can create more contrast. More contrast means that the piece becomes more interesting. I hope you understand what I mean. :-) *We are already practicing your 3 Sentensiae. It is fun! luderart Posted January 28, 2017 Author Posted January 28, 2017 Thanks for your review and feedback Maarten. It is true that I haven't used the higher range of the clarinet in the piece. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll keep that in mind in the future. Great to hear that you are practicing my 3 Sententiae. Good luck and hope to hear your performance when you are ready. Quote
