I don't remember if I posted this here before or on another web site, sorry. I've always loved Herrmann's music, so concise, so striking. Never a wasted note. So this sounds a little bit Psycho, but not. The Titles sequence is only 1:30 long so the challenge was to forecast the mood of the film in that time. The Birds has no score, so I used it as an exercise in scoring and I wrote about  60 minutes of music for the hour and a half film. But Universal Pictures took it off youtube. They didn't complain about the title sequence, though, so I left it up. Haha

My third time listening. I highly enjoyed it and I think it matches what's going on in the video quite well. I love the dark and psychotic feel (well that's the feeling I get from this) it's a little creepy honestly lol but very well executed.

Considering how little Hitchcock gave you to work with here, I think you did a pretty good job. Constant Picardy thirds were a nice touch too, though maybe sometimes there was a little too much modal ambiguity, but that's largely a personal thing.
I also think maybe playing more with the quintuplet (I think that's what it was) figure a little more could have been a neat layering thing to do.
Very good job!

Thanks all for your comments. I didn't want to jump the shark with only a minute and a half to make a statement that is coherent on its own. The quintuplets represent the flying birds, which is fairly obvious. I did develop the quintuplets later on when the birds decide to attack, in marcato strings. And again, I wish I could post it but I cannot.
