NeuroEmp Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Hi, been a long time since I posted, Not so young anymore :) Just got back into recording music, now in a more jazzy mood, some other influences there as well. Here is a track, for a trio, piano, bass, drums. https://soundcloud.com/j-guerreiro/circulo-imperfeito Hope you enjoy it, thanks. Quote

Monarcheon Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 The weird contrast between sweeping piano chords and seemingly shifted drum beats was the biggest consistent issue here. I felt like it all came out a little stunted. Some of the piano melodies feel a little bit unsynchronized. In terms of the harmonic structure, it's generally really nice. The beginning didn't really strike me as quite jazzy with the exception of the m9 chord, which was a great addition. The rest of had some m3 vs. M3 things I think I heard around the 2:45 mark, but on the whole it was quite smooth. The ending was also a bit strange to me, but I couldn't tell you why. Seemed a little dramatic for the rest of the song's atmosphere. Anyway, a pretty good job! :) Cheers. Quote
The_Emperor Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 I'm more into modern jazz, or fusion, so there's a lot in there influenced by other styles, classical, rock/metal and electronic( in the drums), everything i love really. That reflects in the music I guess :D The ending just fits the concept in my head and of the album, I wanted to finish big cuz the next track on the album is kinda of slow moody "Ballad". Thanks for listening and comments! Appreciated! Quote
