tmarko Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 This was a "self assignment" at writing for ww quintet. It was done more as a study of writing for the ensemble for my own education. Any comments would be appreciated, especially as it relates to use of the ensemble. Luis Hernández Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Although this is not my preferred style of music, I have to say it's nice and catchy. I think there is a good balance between counterpoint and harmony and it flows quite well. Quote
bkho Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 A charming piece for sure! I would imagine it would be great fun to play, very nice balance with all the instruments. Quote
Ken320 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Very nice, crisp and clean. Good variety in the instrumentation, sounding effortless. It reminds me here and there of Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite, which he borrowed from Pergolesi and other Italian composers. Quote
Maarten Bauer Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Beautiful piece. I really enjoyed it and in my thoughts I was dancing in a field full of dendelions! Well done! Maarten Quote
tmarko Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Thank you all for listening. I found I really liked writing for this particular ensemble and will be doing more in the future. Tim Quote
