Labyrinth for prepared piano

I don't remember a piece for prepared piano in the forum... Perhaps there is.

I've been studying and experimenting... I know this is not a "standard" to listen to. In fact, I think prepared piano deals with rhythm and colors.

But I like it. This is not my piano, impossible in an upright. I tried to put some objects but it's quite hard and they fall down.  So it's a virtual piano.

The name of the piece.... Sometimes it's something I feel when writing. Also, this sonority, in which there is no distinct pitches, makes me think about it as if somebody tries to go out... Weird!

This piece goes with another one I'm finishing (Labyrinth 2), quite different, but also with a peculiar sound.

Awesome work! I like that you essentially use the preparations to create a diverse rhythm section inside the piano. I hadn't expected anything so groovy, and I really enjoyed it.

Could you tell me where you got the prepared samples?

I used Ircam prepared piano. With it you select every object or objects in each note. It is not a preset, although it has, too. It's not a Chiapas vst, but I shared the cost with something friends ,since you can install it in three computers.

I have always heard prepared piano and thought it sounded like primitive arrangement of percussion. Sounds like tribal ritual music. I do understand the deal with it being a thing more about rhythm then pitch probably for that reason. It sorts of takes the tone out of the strings and lends itself to creating more beat/pattern oriented stuff like the Japanese Kodo drumming. As silly as I think the idea of sticking things in a piano is, I hate to admit that I like the piece and I also like John Cage's 5th sonata which sounds daily similar to your piece.

You're so good at making interesting and well conceived music that's also really fun to listen to! Also I can show this to my non-musical friends as an example of what prepared piano is and what it can do without showing them something boring or scary.
