dronjom Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 The Coneheads - Diamonds Before Sunset.mp3 Hi, this thread is a mix between giving response to one of our songs, if you want, and at the same time I make this thread to tell ya'all that we are making music culture in Armenia, and if you want and if you are a GOOD musician or CHARMING person you should come and join, we will make more than one band, we will do it kind of secretly and make websites with password and writing the password on the posters we will put here in Armenia, because this is nothing we do to be rich or "famous" but because we want to re-make the 60s, the younger generation in Armenia speak more and more English, but if you sing in russian, georgian or armenian you are particilarly welcome. Here is the song I want to show you. My friend Kurt is singing. Ps: we can't sing, so somebody else will do the vocals when it will be performed. Monarcheon Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Can you post an mp3 here, by chance? Would make it easier to comment on it. Thanks. :) Quote

Monarcheon Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Performance thing: Your bassist's G is out of tune. Just before the vocals come in at around :20, the [G# B F] augmented lead in to the dominant was awkward. I know it's an augmented 6th chord, but the mix of timbres and possibly notes was weird. As each verse went on, the lack of the use of triads/chords in the organ sound made the whole thing lose a bit of its sonority. Near the end, the chords got weird... I heard a C natural against the A major triad (i.e. 3:40) and it just didn't fit. The solo section could have contrasted a little bit too, but it wasn't too huge an issue for me. Noble attempt by the vocalist! That isn't easy! Good work. Quote

I think I was a musician reincarnated from the 50s60s but its a secret ho ho. Come to Armenia. We need more musicians to make the 60s. Peace and light Quote
markstyles Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I like it.. Drums louder a bit?... I like the singer a lot.. Tighten the pitch of vocals in a couple of places but he has the emotion and tone to suit the song well... A good exercise for vocalists is to sing the song acapella or with just simple acoustic whole note chords.. Then it becomes real obvious what sections need work.. Overall I like the sound.. Yes, it does have the 60's feel.. Part of the feel of the music of the 60's was the unpolished veneer of some of the bands.. Yeah the chords at end get a bit weird.. Keep working at it.. If the singer of the song is willing to put in the work, (singing scales, learning pitch intervals, etc.. He has the potential and sound to be a great singer.. He does attempt some pretty hard stuff.. I like what you're doing it's 60'a, underground, has intensity.. Most of all the musicians playing sound like they meant what they were playing. I hear so much music, that might sound great, but I hear no human emotion in it.. You guys got that.. Quote
