Aundre Wesley Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 This EP is an example of theoretical improvisation in the 12 keys off of a simple melodic, harmonic, or rhythmic idea. The key of C is played twice. Here's a link to the EP: 1 Quote
jawoodruff Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Given these are theoretical, any chance you can transcribe a score for us to peruse? It would definitely make the reviewing process a tad easier. Quote
Monarcheon Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Critiquing these things is kind of hard, because if they are improvisatory, then we're essentially just reviewing your improvising skills, which I would argue is not the purpose of the forum, if you see what I'm saying. Like I could talk about the use of melody over chordal structure, but... it's not saying anything about the concept of the music. However, if we're staying in the theoretical, there are numerous parts in each of these that don't sound like the key given to them. For example, C# major sounds like it stays in F# major for the vast majority of the first part. Just little things like that. Quote
