jana Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 I mean the late afternoon in the late summer, when the sun is yellow-orange and the days stretch out, like a state of mind. MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu summer > next Quote
Monarcheon Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Some of your bass tones were a little choice; anything step wise (whole or half) felt a little bit strange, though the tritones were executed decently well. A really good motive you're using, but the manipulations thereof don't always feel totally justified. Since that's mainly what the piece is comprised of, with the exception of the middle (which was good), it's a little odd hearing something in ABA form focus on awkward bass motion. Overall, a nice piece. Quote
jawoodruff Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I think I see the reason for the bass notes. It's almost like the world below that receives the light of the late afternoon sun. Kind of a neat premise -and an interesting piece. Would classify this as post-minimalism? I'd very much like to see if you have a live recording of this that I include in my radio broadcasts. Very interesting work! Quote
Maarten Bauer Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Lovely! The dreamy mood, which sometimes drives me to a sort of dizziness, reminds me of one of my compositions: It is the third movement: Zomer (Summer). I really love the music, I put the play button three times, because I could not stop listenening to it. Very well done! Quote
