Luis Hernández Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I want to share this piece I love, that I didn't wrote. I shared my thoughts about triad layering and impressionism with a friend of mine (who knew just a little bit about harmony) and she did this. I arranged some issues. The idea began with a total deconstruction of Bach / Gounoud's Ave Maria. link to the mp3: https://www.dropbox.com/s/48nqfl7dxtkshqs/ave maria guarani.mp3?dl=0 ave maria guarani - Score.pdf MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu ave maria guarani > next PDF ave maria guarani - Score Quote
Monarcheon Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 So you just edited the piece? I'm just kind of confused about the context. It's nice, overall. Some of the stepwise motion (whole and half) was a little bit out of place, and the ending seems a bit rushed, but it's a nice experience that says what it needs to say Quote
Luis Hernández Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 The composition is not mine, but I made some arrangements. What do you mean saying something is out of place?. Other thing is you don't like it. Sorry I ask about that, but there something I read here many times, and I don't understand well what it means. For me, the music is effective or not, I like it or no, it says something or nothing (to me)... but technical issues are secondary, whenever one knows what he/she is doing. I think eclecticism is for any kind of music nowadays, including tonal. If I were asked to write a piece strictly following the techniques of clasicism (I hope not) I undertand I'll have to stick to the rules. Quote
