Sax solo

I didn't want to bother in the Saxophone Repertoire with this.

I've been studying a little the saxophone family, and following @Maarten Bauer's advice, I wrote this only to practice. Because I always have doubts.

Bars are lacking. The intention is to be played freely. I can put the bars, but perhaps it's a mess.

Double sharps or flats, and Eb# or B# have been avoided. That is why there are F - F# and C - C#..., is this better?

The piece uses the double harmonic scale and Messiaen's 4th mode. If I respected the scale, I would use E#, B#, etc...

The notation is transposed. I've read the best tesitura is between F (first space in the stave) and A above the stave... Written in transposition. So, I tried no to go out very much.

The music is great!

In this case I would write all double sharps (and double flats), because it is more easy to follow the line (ascending or descending), if you understand what I mean.
When you write for saxophone you actually do not have to take much care of the tessitura. All registers are comfortable, but each of them has its powers and limitations.
In the Young Composers Magazine I have written an article about the saxophone and its registers.

I will play it for you, because playing the music is still better than reading it. If you would like to have a recording, I can send you one, but I do not have a professional recorder, so the sound quality will not be very high... Furthermore, I am not that 'rhytmic person, so it may contain some errors.

It would be great, of course! You're very kind. And don't worry, the intention is to be played freely, that's why there are no bar lines. But I can't tell the software to be so human...

But I'll make the corrections about the double sharps... I'll upload it later.

Yes, it can be written with accidentals in ALL the notes (even naturals), but I wrote an indication in the beginning. I hope it's clear.

I know that it is not good... but I am no professional saxophonist. Please forgive me for the horrible playing.

The music is nice and very well suited for the alto saxophone. It is, however, pretty heavy regarding breath, but pros would not have any trouble with that.

Wow, this is pretty cool. Nothing compares to the real sound of breathing and keys... You played it very very nice, and made real a little thing I did just for learning.
