arpeggia Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Hi everyone! Just got back to this forum after n years and realized that my old submissions went missing. So I went back to my old compositions and decided to re-upload some of them :) Here's one entitled "Scalar Etude" that I composed in late 2011-early 2012. I made a few changes from the original form, so I guess I'd re-upload it somehow. Hope you enjoy it! All comments and feedback are very welcome :) MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Scalar Etude > next PDF Scalar Etude Quote
Luis Hernández Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 The value of this piece is, I think, that it is a study. I mean, the modulations are soft. I've never seen a part in A#m before. 1 Quote
arpeggia Posted May 31, 2018 Author Posted May 31, 2018 Quote 2. Noticed some potentially unintended dissonances and slightly awkward harmonies. This can mostly be fixed by changing the left hand notes during dominant chord progressions from bass of first inversion and root position to bass of second inversion and root position. I don't know if this is really a necessary change, however. They were all intentional :) Thanks! :D Quote
Mark101 Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Love this, it's got a real momentum. Well worth the re-post. 1 Quote
