Monarcheon Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 As the judges are doing their best to be objective, I'll just say this for now: I see we took a similar approach, haha. The atmosphere was shifty through the piece, but not necessarily repetitive, which is nice. The parts with no time signature/bars are a little bit weirdly executed in terms of literal performance, and I really wanted a part that just went all out to my face but it's fantastic work. Quote
markstyles Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Hey Luis:.... WOW... I am also an artist, went to art college etc. We studied Paul Klee. He was perhaps my favorite, Because he wasn't as outrageous as his contemporaries, he didn't get the attention he deserved. But all in all, he had perhaps the greatest mastery of of bringing different components together and making it palatable for viewers Your music really reflects Klee's work. I can only begin to appreciate your 'thought process' to get to where you did.. By absorbing the art, mixed with your considerable knowledge of techniques, and styles, you very skillfully weaved together a tapestry of variation. Excellent.. Quote
Luis Hernández Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 Thanks (both of you). I like P. Klee very much, he represents the all the changes in 20 th century, and I love his paintings. I've listened to the works too the other participants and I love them, but I prefer to comment later, when the judges speak. Anyway, it had a lot of fun and also a bit of research and study making this suite. Quote
