Jinn

Just another preview I made for the video game we are working on ... 

I was asked to describe a Jinn (some kind of demon in Middle eastern culture, referenced in Qur'an, and also Iranian and Arabian legends and mythologies) with music. But, this Jinn is not a typical Jinn (to help you imagine Jinn, you can consider "baphomet" without wings). This Jinn shows himself as a human with a mask to people, and he doesn't annoy or injure them until they make him angry. Also, I was asked to include Iranian folk instruments in my music. And, I made this :

Watch the eq sir :) The guitar-like instrument is way too loud in contrast to the rest of the song, making it stick out artificially much.

Agreed with Saigen, the guitar is loud. I'm not a fan of the guitar samples; the bending of the note is also unpleasant at times. But overall, I enjoyed it. The introduction is fitting for the theme, not entirely evil but somewhat triumphant. Melody in the guitar/sitar is nice too, but I would change the EQ and the samples of the amount of bending.

I know, It has lots of mastering problems, but look at it as a preview, how do you feel when you hear the track?

Actually, it's not the guitar. It's an Iranian folk instrument which is called "Setar".

Of course, this is what it used to be. In Persian music, using half and whole and even quarter tones is popular, and I used "Segah" settings in Setar samples. It has two quarter tones.

The thing I have a slight issue is that no other instruments do anything similar to what the Setar is doing, making it seem like a mistake rather than an idea of what you wanted.

I know. I am not a part of that team anymore, but for future tracks, I may use a micro-tuner for these purposes.
