Rabbival507 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 (edited) I have no music sheet for this one. I can make one but it might take a while. It was written for a computer game so its quite repetitive. Hope you'll still enjoy it :) Please listen and give your feedback. Muhammadreza Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 let me guess, a fantasy game with some bloody scenes! It's what I can get from a nice and smooth jazz soundtrack. something like cinema noir. At all, well done! 1 Quote
Sepharite Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Catchy! Sounds like a spy esque theme where everyone is waiting in the elevator, waiting for the first person to attack. Sounds great! 1 Quote
Willibald Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Really nice. Some notes of the "celesta" are very high and barely audible under normal circumstances, but I guess this could be just me. Quote

You meant that notes that high can barely be heared. You're right, that's why I don't think it could work without any volume changes (I mean with real instruments). I guess that if I'll ever record this one I'll just bring the celesta's microphone closer to the instrument. Do you think that could work? Edited November 11, 2017 by Rabbival507 Quote
Maarten Bauer Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Very catchy! The only critique I have is that I would have liked some variation in registers of the Celesta. It is a wonderful instrument, but you seldomly use the lowest register of it, which is a pity. Great work! Quote
Rabbival507 Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 @Maarten Bauer @Willibald It's funny that one of you said that there are far too high notes and the other said the register is too low. I think that I'll notate this one for you, so you can see for yourself, but it might take a while. Btw, I wanted to give a "thank you" sign for both of you (I mean this little blue goblet) and couldn't. do you know why is that? Quote
Rabbival507 Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 (edited) @Maarten Bauer @Willibald I didn't really do anything but making sure that the notes are quite orginized and readable. It is on the lowest register on the celesta, but only for small parts of the piece. Guess I could do some creazy runs up and down to fully use the range of the instrument (and also add another voice), I didn't think of it back then. I'm not sure how good will super high celesta notes sound though. If one day I'll see that someone can actually play it I'll probably rearrange and notate everything. About the high notes- it seems like these aren't the highest possible notes, not even close to that. @Willibald Do you think it still affect the volume of the instrument? Willibald Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Thanks for the score. I wouldn’t lend my comments regarding the celesta sound too much weight, it could be a problem with my setup as well. Just be careful with notation: The celesta is usually a transposing instrument: It is notated one octave lower than it is played. Quote
markstyles Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 I like the use of celeste instead of vibes, (which one would have expected). The interaction of celeste and bass is very interesting in some places.. Nice work. 1 Quote
