I uncovered this piece from a while back. I'd started it with the intention of it being music for an advert but it grew (by accident, I got carried away) into something bigger. I'm still under the impression it's only really background music. Let me know what you think. This was the last version i put to MP3 so I'm going back through it now to 'clean it up'

The new vibe from the mid-point of the track seems to be inspired by Thomas Newman, aye? ^^

The progression and the emotion is nice. I think the piano is a bit to wide in the stereo image and a bit to verby and it's missing some low-end (or the highs are peaking to much). I think if you make the piano a bit dryer/a bit more centered (not overly) it can serve as a sort of constant. I think the strings can have the roles in the wider field of your track. Just a thought.

If it's advert music, then to me it sounds like an in-depth teaser for something professional and expensive. If you want more foreground, you could have a drier element in there (the piano is a good candidate), but I don't think it's necessary. I like it.

How does this work? Piano is softer with less reverb and not so wide in the mix. I am a fan of Thomas Newman, especially his 'Brookes was here' piece, I didn't however have him in mind for this piece. Appreciate the feedback.
