Maja (Bowed Guitar Solo)

One of my favorite bands, is Sigur Ros. And this is why I learned to play guitar using a bow ... I know violin bow is not that good for being used on guitar, but it was the cheapest and easiest choice I had. So, today I felt so Scandinavian (LOL), and decided to make something like Sigur Ros (you know, when someone feels Scandinavian, he/she may make some trve kvlt music \m/ ), then I picked my bow and tuned my guitar to DADGAD, and this is the result :

What an atmosphere! I'm not hugely into guitar but I'm a real sucker for novelty. Bowed guitar checks that box for me, this was nice!

I was once told you can bow anything and I guess that's true here, haha.
The second chord really hit me the wrong way. I know it's supposed to be a DM9#11/C chord, but to me it didn't really as well as it could theoretically, maybe because of the different timbres.
Other than that, the idea is cool with a lot of potential other uses, so I look at this a little more like an experiment for greater things.

No, that's a C major 7 in piano line, and Guitar plays a droning D.

I agree with Monarcheon.  but I really admire you using alternate tuning, and a bow.. This certainly deserves more exploration..  There have been some guitarists who use different guitar string tunings, (and then have to modify their playing techniques), but it can create something unique.. 

There was a device in the 60's or 70's called the 'Ebow'.. It was this small thing the guitarist held in their hand (not sure if it was a spinning wheel or what)..  But it would give you a bowling technique, great for the guitarist to make these kind of atmospheric pads..  But the bow, never ran out, The string/strings would continuously resonate, as you moved it over the strings.  

Great avenue to pursue..

I know what is that, E-Bow uses a magnetic field to make vibration on the string (and it can be used on all the string of guitar!) but unfortunately, I could not find it in Iran. One of my friends and I tried to make one, but we could not find suitable coils/oscillators to vibrate guitar string. It's the best choice for bowed guitar players, of course.
