aMusicComposer Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 This is an arrangement of the song "Merry Christmas Everyone" that I am doing for my school's steel orchestra, an example of which can be found here: https://youtu.be/p7RlAJn-Qxs MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Merry_Christmas_Everyone > next PDF Merry_Christmas_Everyone-Score_and_Parts Quote
Monarcheon Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I'm confused by this. It doesn't really have the same feeling as the original in the slightest, harmonically and stylistically. Why are the cellos in treble clef? Why are there no markings? Why is it in a different key? What's with the weird instrumentation? I just don't really get what you're going for here. Quote
aMusicComposer Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 I have realised now about the harmonies and will change these. The strange names are just the different type of pan (cellos and guitars aren't actually cellos and guitars, I have no idea why they have been called this. Also, the tenor is soprano which really confuses me.) I will add markings later when I have all the notes I want. Quote
Monarcheon Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Ah, i gotcha. Good on you then! Part of the difficulty of arrangements is doing it in a way that makes it seem natural. Needles to say, you've got a hard ensemble transfer! Quote
