notice_me_maestro Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Hey guys, I wrote a short piece for two pianos. I'm wondering if it could be arranged for four hands piano, and how playable it is. (my piano skills are non-existent) . Any other suggestions are welcome as always. Hope you enjoy! MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu CANON > next PDF Canon2 Quote
Luis Hernández Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 The piece is interesting. However I don't see the canon very clearly. Some chords are difficult and I think you could have split them to be played in the two pianos. 1 Quote
Monarcheon Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Canon in the way most people perceive Pachelbel having used it (an ostinato bassline) is incorrect. It really refers to the moving of one voice from one part to the next. Like Luis said, it's not really clear here. Attached you'll see that the parts above the cello copy each other, basically. The ostinato part in the bottom just happens to be a chord progression that fits with the canon. Other than that, the ends of your phrases can sometimes clash; mostly it's when your ostinato wants to end on a V chord, but your other parts want to end on a i chord. 1 Quote
