Rabbival507 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 I like it. It's nice, it's simple, it's calming. Also, it's playable by one person, which makes it really easy to perform, you don't need to gather a whole orchestra for that. I had one small problem with the notation, and it's these three bars and the one after them: I think that reading them an octave lower with an 8av sign would be easier. I didn't compose a thing this year, nor anything for the ending of 2017, which is kind of weird because the rainy days have come and rain usually gives me tons of insperation and will to create. What drove you into making this piece? Quote
Luis Hernández Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Hi @Rabbival507 thanks for your words. I understand your concern about those bars where I didn't put the 8va sign. I used to do it, but one of my teachers of composition, who is also a professional pianist, told me they prefer to read as I wrote it. Well, I suppose it's a matter of preference. I also like rainy days.... This piece was thought to combine two types of harmonic systems: polychods and extended triadic chords. Focusing on the transition between systems, that must be soft. Quote
Maarten Bauer Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Very sweet! The harmonies are beautiful and the atmosphere is wonderful: Dreamy, romantic, restful. Furthermore I can find your association with rainy days. I love it! 1 Quote
