The Hope Tree - 1st Movement

A Marching Band show about a tree that protects a village from evil forces.

It's cute :P

A bit strange for marching band, what with all the pitched percussion, but the idea is cool. 

Klangfarbenmelodie before D is nice, but a little bit strange to use it as an introduction to the section.
It's also extremely short, when I feel like the ideas (especially in the 6/4 section) could have been expanded to include all the instruments of the band playing in similar vain, rather than embellishments. Also a little bit anticlimactic to end so slow after the energy of the first fast section.

Very coloristic. Yes, it seems as uf the last parase leads to further development, perhaps mov. II 

latin feeling, some melodies are familiar...
