Luis Hernández Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Interesting and beautiful work. That chord in the upper register like a cluster is an anchor through the piece. Quote
benyamind Posted April 27, 2018 Author Posted April 27, 2018 Cheers ; ) - yeah I kept referencing that little spicy dissonant chord, even when the chords changed. Bassline is a sort of anchor as well. I never fully dove into jazz, this was one of the few I properly sat down for. The chords that the rhodes are doing halfway through are super stacked, something I don't normally do in other music. But I love that warm clustered feeling. Quote

It's cool, though I kind of personally think the [4, 9, 10] could have been moved around across the chord changes... in trap music, a lot of composers will have a sound effect they really like litter the piece and sometimes instead of staying cool it becomes one of those "things you can't unhear", and I feel like the way it is now, it kind of rides the line. Cool song though! Quote
Battlegun Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Really interesting composition. It seems to blend multiple genres. I love the arrangement of the drums, as well as the real bass played. Thanks for showing us your piece, Benyamind! Quote
